by posted 08/05/2017

NHYBS Skyland's Pride 10U Gold and the Montgomery Mavericks went face to face in the 10U Mid-States championship game.  During the regular season, both Pride Gold and the Mavericks battled it out during the regular season and both ended with a 9–1 record. Each team's only loss had come from each other and the first place standing was determined by the difference in runs in their head to head games with Pride earning first place by a mere 1-run differential.

The road to be Championship for Pride was via a quarterfinals round bye and a sound 8-1 victory over the Flemington Flames in the semifinals.

In the championship game, played at the neutral Lenape Field in Flemington, NHYBS Skyland's Pride Gold clinched the win in a shut out game 3–0 to become the 10U Mid-States champions.

The game remained tie through the first 3 innings with the Pride team spoiled scoring oppertunities in the first 2 inning stranding the bases loaded in both go around.  It wasn't until the 3rd inning when the score was broken when Camryn Campbell 2B drew a walk with the bases loaded.

Pride opened the game up in the following inning when Brooke Cahill C delivered a 2 RBI Double.

That would be all the offense that Pride would need as pitcher Samantha Dougherty held the Mavericks to 2 hits and racked up 12 strikeouts.

Pride had great offensive showing by Leah Longcor 3B, Laura Longcor 1B, and Katie Martini RC and showed support defense by Emme Franco RF, Sydney Heffernan LC, and Kiera Spring LF.

Outfielder Rosa Spann was unavailable for the game but was able to celebrate with her teammates at a later date.
