Major's Divison

Players must be 14 or younger as of January 1st 2018

The Majors division is made up of typically of 12-14 year olds  with the exception of a few 11 year olds who have demonstrated skills that are befitting to the Majors level. Teams are formed through a draft with a strong emphasis on creating balanced teams. Our teams are named after prominent College Softball teams (Washington Huskies, UCLA Bruins, etc...).

Managers and Coaches - All of our Managers and Coaches are Rutgers Safety Clinic Certified. In addition nearly all have participated in our Winter Training Clinics and have attended additional coaches clinics.

Games - The Majors typically play 2 games per week.  We make every attempt to schedule around school games, school functions, religious activities and travel softball teams.   Game times are 6:00 on weekdays and either 9:00, 11:00,1:00, 3:00 or 5:00 on Saturdays. Depending upon our weather conditions it is possible that we will make up rain outs on Sundays at the same times.
Majors games will be played at Bundt Park in Clinton Twsp or on the North Hunterdon Varsity and JV fields.  Majors will play a 12 game regular season followed by playoffs (all teams make the playoffs).

Uniforms - Each player will receive  jersey and socks. We are asking all majors players to wear black softball pants.

Mandatory Equipment for Majors Players include: black softball pants or sweat pants, glove (11.5" - 13" is common) bat and helmet and face mask.

Recommended Equipment for Majors Players include: Glove, bat, helmet, facemask, hat or sun visor; cleats; sliding pad; sliding shorts (to be worn under pants); hair bands, hair ties, etc.. Babe Ruth requires that all helmets include a face guard - you can purchase the face guard as an add-on or purchase a new helmet with one. Other optional items include batting gloves; equipment bag (one that clips to fence is best). Majors use a regulation 12" softball.

Trophies will be awarded to both the league Champion team (1st place in the regular season standings) and the Playoff Champions.

Junior's Division

You must be 8 years old or younger as of January 1st 2018

The Junior division is made up 7 and 8 year olds and a few 9 year olds who are new to softball.  Junior's is designed to provide a level of play that surpasses the Pony Division, align more with the traditional rules of the game and better prepare the girls to play in the Minors  Division.  Teams are composed with friendships and municipality in mind.

9 year olds are required to attend evaluatuions and based on ability could be slotted to play in the Minor's

Games - The Juniors will get together for 120 minutes, 10-12 times during the season.   We make every attempt to schedule around  school and religious functions.  Teams will play 1 - 2 days a week, with the majority of the games on Saturdays.   Game times are 6:00 on weekdays and either 9:00, 11:00,1:00, 3:00 or 5:00 on Saturdays. Depending upon our weather conditions it is possible that we will make up rain outs on Sundays at the same times.

Two teams will meet at the field and practice separately for 45 minutes and then play a game for 1:15 minutes. Juniors will use a pitching machine to provide consistency in pitching and develop good batting skills.  Juniors will also follow modified rules to build fielding skills and develop familiarity with the traditional Babe Ruth game rules.  We plan to keep the teams small so that the girls get more opportunities to field and bat a ball.  Most games will be played at North Hunterdon JV field and Foran field.

Uniforms - Each player will receive a jersey and socks. We are asking all juniors players to wear black softball pants.

Required Equipment for Junior Players include: a glove (10" - 11.5" is common); cleats/sneakers, bat, helmet, face mask, hair bands, hair ties, etc..  Juniors use an 11" inch regulation softball.
