Majors Division

Players must be 14 or younger as of January 1st 2017

The Majors division is made up of 6th - 9th graders with the exception of a few younger players who have demonstrated skills that are befitting to the Majors level. Teams are formed through a draft with a strong emphasis on creating balanced teams. Our teams are named after prominent College Softball teams (Washington Huskies, UCLA Bruins, etc...).

Managers and Coaches - All of our Managers and Coaches are Rutgers Safety Clinic Certified. In addition nearly all have participated in our Winter Training Clinics and have attended additional coaches clinics.

Games - The Majors typically play 2 games per week.  We make every attempt to schedule around school games, school functions, religious activities and travel softball teams.   Game times are 6:00 on weekdays and either 9:00, 11:00,1:00, 3:00 or 5:00 on Saturdays. Depending upon our weather conditions it is possible that we will make up rain outs on Sundays at the same times.
Majors games will be played at Bundt Park in Clinton Twsp or on the North Hunterdon Varsity and JV fields.  Majors will play a 12 game regular season followed by playoffs (all teams make the playoffs).

Uniforms - Each player will receive a V-neck sleeveless jersey and socks. We are asking all majors players to wear black softball pants.  For cooler days it is recommended that players wear an under armour or other type of long sleeve shirt under their uniform.

Mandatory Equipment for Majors Players include: black softball pants or sweat pants, glove (11.5" - 12" is common) bat and helmet.

Recommended Equipment for Majors Players include: hat or sun visor; cleats; sliding pad; sliding shorts (to be worn under pants); hair bands, hair ties, etc.. Each team will be provided with a couple team bats and several helmets but many players choose to have their own bats and helmet. Babe Ruth requires that all helmets include a face guard - you can purchase the face guard as an add-on or purchase a new helmet with one. Other optional items include batting gloves; equipment bag (one that clips to fence is best). Majors use a regulation 12" softball with raised threads.

Trophies will be awarded to both the league Champion team (1st place in the regular season standings) and the Playoff Champions.

Minors Division

Players must be 11 or younger as of January 1st 2017

The Minors division is made up of some 3rd*, 4th & 5th graders. Teams are formed through a draft with a strong emphasis on creating balanced teams. Our teams are named after prominent College Softball teams (Florida Gators, Cal Golden Bears, etc...).

*3rd graders will attend evaluations and those whose skills are befitting to a minors team will be moved up.

Managers and Coaches - All of our Managers and Coaches are Rutgers Safety Clinic Certified. In addition nearly all have participated in our Winter Training Clinics and have attended additional coaches clinics.

Games - The Minors Division typically play 2 games per week.
Minors games will be played at Bundt Park in Clinton Township or North Hunterdon Varsity and JV softball fields. During a rain out situation a game may need to be scheduled at Foran Field.
Minors will play a 12 game regular season followed by playoffs (all teams make the playoffs).

Uniforms - Each player will receive a V-neck sleeveless jersey, mini-mesh shorts and socks. For cooler days it is recommended that players wear a black shirt under their uniform.

Mandatory Equipment for Minors Players include: a glove (11.0" - 12" is common)

Recommended Equipment for Minors Players include: cleats; sliding pad; sliding shorts (to be worn under uniform shorts); hair bands, hair ties, etc.. Minors use a regulation 11" softball with raised threads.

Trophies will be awarded to both the league Champion team (1st place in the regular season standings) and the Playoff Champions.

Junior Division

You must be 9 years old or younger as of January 1st 2017

The Junior division is made up of some 2nd & all 3rd graders and is designed to provide a level of play that surpasses the Pony Division, align more with the traditional rules of the game and better prepare the girls to play in the Minors  Division.  Teams are composed with friendships and municipality in mind.

Games - The Juniors will get together for 120 minutes, 10-12 times during the season.   We make every attempt to schedule around  school and religious functions.  Teams will play 1 - 2 days a week, with the majority of the games on Saturdays.   Game times are 6:00 on weekdays and either 9:00, 11:00,1:00, 3:00 or 5:00 on Saturdays. Depending upon our weather conditions it is possible that we will make up rain outs on Sundays at the same times.

Two teams will meet at the field and practice separately for 45 minutes and then play a game for 1:15 minutes. Juniors will use a pitching machine to provide consistency in pitching and develop good batting skills.  Juniors will also follow modified rules to build fielding skills and develop familiarity with the traditional Babe Ruth game rules.  We plan to keep the teams small so that the girls get more opportunities to field and bat a ball.  Most games will be played at North Hunterdon JV field and Foran field.

Uniforms - Each player will receive a V-neck sleeveless jersey and black mesh shorts. For cooler days it is recommended that players wear a white or black shirt under their uniform.

Recommended Equipment for Junior Players include: a glove (10" - 11" is common); cleats/sneakers; hair bands, hair ties, etc.. Each team will be provided with bats, balls and helmets but it's recommended that players purchase their own helmets for proper sizing and hygiene purposes. Juniors use an 11" Incrediball (softer than the std softball).

Pony Division

You must be 8 years old or younger on January 1st 2017

The Pony division is made up of Kindergarten & 1st graders and depending on registration 2nd graders . Teams are composed with friendships and municipality in mind.

Games - The Ponies will get together for 105 minutes, 10 times during the season. We make every attempt to schedule around school and religious functions. Depending upon our weather conditions it is possible that we will make up rainouts on Sundays at the same times.

Two teams will meet at the field and practice separately for 45 minutes and then play a game for 60 minutes. Ponies will start hitting off of a batting tee and progress to coach soft toss. We plan to keep the teams small so that the girls get more opportunities to field and bat a ball.  Most games will be played at Foran field or North Hunterdon JV field.
